Prestige was developed by the University of Nebraska and released in 2003. Prestige tolerates humid climates and outperforms other buffalograss in the south and southeast regions of the United States. Prestige also shows resistance to chinch bugs. It is an excellent choice for lawns, street islands, commercial areas and parks. LEED points are available when using Prestige on certified Green Building projects. The low maintenance requirements of this grass make it a great choice for Green Roofs. Buffalograss is the only turfgrass native to the United States

  • Only uses 1/4 inch of water per week
  • Very low pollen rating
  • Bright green color
  • Soft fine leaf blades form a thick turf
  • Only grows 4 to 6 inches tall
  • Resistant to most turf insects
  • Spreads quickly and repairs itself
  • Very high resistance to disease
  • Very aggressive to prevent weed growth
  • Deep root system extends 6 to 8 feet
